Cassandra Interview

Introduce Yourself: Hi, my name is Cassandra Fischer.

Thoughts On People In The World?: My thoughts on people in the world are that we are all different and have gone through a lot of different events in their lives, and nobody can really understand unless they see it with their own eyes. I think that people around the world grew up with cultures so it makes everyone unique in their own way; however, I think that there is too much controverse in opinions. I think that people need to stand together no matter what they look like or where they come from. Even if they speak different languages. People everywhere, need to in some shape or form, need to stop being selfish and help everyone they possibly can. We need to stop fighting because it’s hurting someone somewhere. There’s so much we can learn from people around the world.

What are your inspirations & goals?: A few of my inspirations are to view life as an adventure that we are given everyday as a gift to live differently, to not let fear cripple you before you even get there, and to try to be the person that looks on the bright side because we have enough people doubting you. My goals are to be the first in my family to attend a four year university, do something in the medical field to help as many people as I can and really hear people, to travel and experience everything different than what I grew up to, and be a mother with my own family. I want to be able to provide for them and teach them what my parents never could teach or provide for my siblings and I.

How would you impact the world?: I would impact the world by my point of view. I would help people understand both sides of story or wall. I want to help people and make them feel like they’re important and worth living for. I would want to impact people by teaching them how to genuinely feel for others through their pain and suffering, and hopefully they would help others as well.

Struggles In Life? : I grew up in a divided home. My parents divorced when I was 2 so I never got to see my dad very often. I also grew up in a very poor house. Where hand-me-downs was all we knew, and often a question asked would be, “do we pay for the electricity bill, or the water bill?” Because we couldn’t pay for both, and we almost got evicted several times even in the winter. My mom got very sick with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia when I was probably 5. She had it her whole life but then is when it finally showed in her. It felt like I grew up without parents so my big brother became a parent for my two older sisters and I and it was really hard. We all had to grow up young to look after our mom and ourselves.

How do you feel about yourself? Any changes you would make? : I feel pretty good about myself but I would make a few changes. I would learn how to be honest with myself, take some over emotions out, truly be confident in myself, and really be able step into my voice and be a leader without hesitation or doubt.

What does love mean to you?: To me, love means that everyday you choose to protect, encourage, help, never abandon, be honest, respect, feel for, and understand that person or people.
