Taylor Shennett Interview

Introduce Yourself: My name is Taylor Shennett and I’m a junior Communications and Social Media Marketing major at the University of Memphis. I was adopted from China when I was nine months old and that has since inspired me to write my own blog focusing on adoption from an Adoptee’s Point of View! (you can see it at taylorshennett.wordpress.com)

Thoughts On People In The World?: I think there are good and bad people in the world. Its just up to you, on how you react and treat everyone.

What are your inspirations & goals?: I would love to do contracted work for individual businesses to build their social media. In the future, I would love to start a non-profit for families interested in adoption.

How would you impact the world?: If I could, I would impact the world through working with orphans and adoptees.

Struggles In Life? : I’ve struggled with my adoption. Some days are perfectly fine and other days are a struggle. Being adopted is more than just one word. It defines your life and your outlook. I have found peace with my adoption through my relationship with Christ.

How do you feel about yourself? Any changes you would make? : For a long time, I disliked how I looked. However, I have since grown to love myself and be confident in my own skin.

What does love mean to you?: To me, love means putting other’s happiness and wellbeing before yourself regardless of the cost to you.
