Introduce yourself?: My name is Kendall McGowan, but I usually go by Kenny. I am 16 years old.
What inspires you everyday?: Learning. Curiosity. Everyday, I wonder what I could learn new that day- whether it be a skill, a fact, a lesson, or anything. Learning is a huge part of my life.
What is something you would change about people in the world?: Their drive and determination. If I could convince everyone to keep staying motivated, I would. You know that feeling you get, when you’re just about the finish a marathon, or a video game, a good book, or something you enjoy… You’re so close, so your drive becomes larger and you stay focused? That’s what I wish everyone had in life.
How do you feel about the people in the world?: Society as a whole as definitely crumbled, and I don’t think anyone can deny that. Statistically, there is more bad than good in the world. But if you think about it, being pessimistic constantly is just going to add +1 more bad to the world… +1 more than good! I try my best to keep a positive outlook as much as possible.
What is something you’ve struggled with in life?: Depression, most definitely. I’ve suffered from depression for a long time now, since I was only 9 years old I was already taking antidepressants. The feelings of loneliness and worthlessness truly get to me.
What is a positive message you would give others?: The way I keep going, is by realizing my goal. My goal in life is to raise a family of my own. I was raised in a pretty messed up family, and I want a chance to prove that I can be better than my drug addicted, alcoholic parents. So my positive message is: If someone tells you that you can’t be something… then be it. Prove them wrong. Because you are amazing and the only thing holding you back is your own heart and mind.
what is some things you wanna tell people in the world and be honest? : The world is a messed up place. No doubting that. I have issues. Everyone has issues. No one is ever going to be perfect. The only thing that we, as humans, can do, is try our best to be our best. If we sit around a wait for things to come to us, they won’t.
