Marcus Interview

Introduce yourself?: My name is Marcus Santoro. I’m a 22 year old music producer & DJ from Melbourne, Australia.

What inspires you everyday?: Music, my family and friends, the gift of life that we all live is something that truly is inspiring in itself.

What is something you would change about people in the world?: I think people need to be more kind these days, especially the newer generations. It helps to be kind to others, to be a little selfless at times. People these days are just worried about their social status and not about getting to know others, I find that worrying. You never know who is fighting a hard fight…and it pays nothing to be a kind person. We need more of that today more than ever.

How do you feel about the people in the world?: People today are sensitive creatures. We have accomplished so much as a people, but we’re losing sight of the goal – to be one and to be free. A lot of people today aren’t allowed to have their opinions heard if it doesn’t agree with the vast majority. We can’t speak our minds without possibly offending someone.

What is something you’ve struggled with in life?: Being involved in the music business has many ups, but it also has many downs. One of them is feeling a sense of loneliness, and isolation. I personally have felt this many times in my life, but music is my life at the end of the day and I wouldn’t change it for anything. Some people are better at balancing their lives than others, I guess it’s something we all go through.

What is a positive message you would give others?: Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today. Don’t worry about the past, always embrace the future – even if it looks bleak and daunting at first. Always believe in yourself and see the positive in everything. If you believe in something enough, it’ll come true. Always look forward and always give back in anyway you can. The world is a dark dark place, but you can be the light.

if you could make a difference in the world how would you do that?: It’s always hard to answer this because there’s so much things that we all collectively as a people can do to make the world better, to make that difference. Personally, I’d like to give back to others, in any shape or form I can. To brighten up someones day when they’re feeling down, or to inspire others through my music.
