Jillian Interview

Lol, my name is Jillian 👋🏽

What inspires you everyday

I’m inspired by the strength of my family, and the loyalty and support of my friends. I’m inspired constantly by my boyfriend who regularly displays leadership, courage and maturity in ways that many his age don’t. I am inspired by people who follow their dreams and make the most of little. I am thoroughly inspired by people with the confidence to stand by their genuine opinions, styles and mindsets without being swayed by popular culture, social media and or societal expectations.

What is something you would change about people in the world
This is such a hard question. I’m literally typing and deleting because this question is so complex. I would love to see a better world. One where expressing emotions is encouraged, differences are embraced, all love is celebrated and violence is a last resort. And I guess I struggle with this question because every part of me hopes that if we knew what would have to change to achieve this, then our world would already be this way.

How do you feel about people in the world

I tend to think that people are mostly good. That they are a combination of both learned experiences & biological make up. I think people are interesting with great wisdom from all walks of life. I think as people, we are naturally social and that we are better as a collective.

What is something you’ve struggled with in life
My own imperfections and flaws. Especially when they’re pointed out. I ruminate over them and how I can perfect them and when I can’t (which duh, no one is perfect) I go a little crazy

What is a positive message you would give others
Smile, you’re beautiful!

Last question if you could make a difference in the world how would you do that
I would do it by connecting with as many people as possible, touching as many hearts. As jhene aiko says “we’re better as a collective, better when we’re connected.”
