Ok my name is Monique Tucker, I’m a 19 year old college student working on getting my Associates Degree in Tourism and I am currently residing Belize
What inspires you everyday
I can’t say what inspires me everyday because different people and events inspires me to do different things like traveling the world, learning new languages, etc. I guess what I can say is that people who are hurting inspire me to become a hero. I’ve always loved people, so I’ve always wanted to take part in letting people hope for a better tomorrow.
What is something you would change about people in the world
I want to change so many things about the people here, but the one thing I want is for people to be more accepting of others and their differences. I think that’s one of the main reasons we have many disputes between each other. That’s why we can’t always be happy because we’re always busy judging people or pushing them away, because they’re not “like us.” That’s very sad, and it hurts to say that we’ve been living like this all our lives.
How do you feel about people in the world
It all depends. There are so many good people who wants to do more with their lives. Those people who were bad and wants to be good, changing their lives. They have saviors. Those are the people that gives me hope in this world. And of course, there are also bad people, who’ll keep putting people down, not to mention the crime and violence that’s so famous. To me, the world and our lives is a game. You just need to see who wins, while our home begins to crumble.
What is something you’ve struggled with in life
From I was about 9, I’ve been bullied everyday for many years at my school, home and at my tutor’s place. I always had a problem accepting who I was, that’s why I’m not a talker. I’m almost 20 and I’m still afraid to approach people or simply just raise my hand in class because I’m afraid of saying the wrong things, afraid of being judged, and I really don’t take that well. Sometimes I do think it’s better not to say anything and just focus on your surroundings. You might know a bit more
What is a positive message you would give others
Just be yourself. No matter what people say, you do you. And also, it’s never too late to make a difference in the world. We can’t always alone, so we need all the help we can get to paint a brighter future for the upcoming generations. We want to leave something positive behind.
Last question if you could make a difference in the world how would you do that
I believe and hope that I’m making a difference right now. I’ve always been interested in helping others and our home by doing volunteer work outside of school. But I want to be a part of something bigger, something that’ll always make a positive impact on the world. We are our home, it’s our job to just….make it better. We need to keep moving forward instead of taking a step back.
