My name is Katharina, I’m 17 years old and I’m half German and half Italian and I live in Milan (Italy)
What inspires you everyday
My family, friends, and people who suffered in life, fell down but tried to stand up again (even if at the end they weren’t able to stand up one more time, like Chester Bennington), and people who gave away everything for others
What is something you would change about people in the world
I wish people had more respect. Respect towards other people, towards animals, towards environment. I think that if everyone respected each other, many conflicts and quarrels would not happen. Less bullying, less wars, less meanness, and just a more peaceful living together for everyone. I would love that.
What is your view on the people in the world
I think that we are all different. There are friendly and unfriendly, careful and careless, tolerant and intolerant, hearty and rude, etc. people. BUT this is how circumstances and influences by other people have made us, because nobody was born rude or intolerant.
What is something you’ve struggled with in life
Anorexia (and bulimia). I have always had little self- confidence and self-esteem and I got the feeling that nobody liked me, so this is why 4 years ago I started a diet and soon stopped eating and became anorexic (and now bulimic). The worst consequence of anorexia is not the physical one, but the psychological one; in fact I have been depressed for a long time and now I am still trying to fight this problem.
What is a positive message you would give others
Love yourself and love others. Respect yourself and respect others. Don’t treat others as you don’t want to be treated.
Last question if you could make a difference in the world how would you do that
I would help people and countries which have difficulties. I would try not to turn around and ignore problems. Ensure education, sanity, food and water etc. to the whole humanity, avoiding waste of goods. Make people understand what respect, peace and love are, since when they are very young.
