My name’s Keanna, I’m 19, and I live in New York
What inspires you everyday
Moments of pain and moments of joy in life inspire me to create so that I can work through the emotions. The people around me, both friends and strangers, inspire me to improve for my own sake and theirs. I love to find the wonder in the little moments and a pinch of extraordinary in seemingly ordinary things.
What is something you would change about people in the world
I would want people to look for the good in everything. If they saw the good in others, even in the seemingly worst people, it would be easier to love everyone. In dark times and hard situations, there is always something good either in the future or in the present despite circumstances.
By focusing our energy on searching for the good and making good out of bad times, hope and joy could flourish. There is so much darkness in the world, but there is also a lot of goodness and a lot to be thankful, if only we look for it.
What is your view on the people in the world
I think all people are good in some way, but they have sin in their hearts. By crumbling under the influence of sin or evil, they have the horrible capability to commit any crime, large or small, from saying a harsh word to killing another. We all need a lot of love and a lot of saving and can’t do it on our own.
What is something you’ve struggled with in life
The past few years, with mental illness in the family (along with the isolation that comes with the stigma of this in a conservative community) and struggling with my own health, I’ve had to readjust my own mindset. I’ve had to learn that it is ok to let down and not be ok. I also do not need to compensate for others. Through struggles and tears, I have also learned to love more.
What is a positive message you would give others
Even when you may not feel like it, remember that: You are never alone, you are loved, you are valuable and you are a beautiful addition to this world.
Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the world
I want to shine light into the world. I want spread joy and love because the world needs a little more of that and I want to do so through both my art and through my interactions with others.
