Nya Interview

Well, I’m still in grade school, I’m mixed race as well as bilingual, I was born in North Carolina but was primarily raised in Kansas City, I moved to Texas a few years ago.

What inspires you everyday

My family definitely. Being from a family of immigrants my grandma would always tell me about how she had to watch her siblings starve to death, that makes me grateful for the little things. There’s been instances where I’ve had to eat ramen for dinner and I’ve felt blessed because I’m aware that other individuals don’t have that same privilege. I kind of got off track, but yeah my family. They make this life worth living.

What is something you would change about people in the world

Inconsideration, there’s a distinct difference between being selfish and being inconsiderate. The further we advance into the future the more inconsiderate man is to his fellow man.

What is your view on the people in the world

like I previously mentioned, people can be selfish, people can be cruel, however on the world as a whole I think that people are beautiful. We all lead of different existences, prosperous or not that depends on your perspective but we all play a significant role whether contrary to what some may believe. So, as a whole I think we’re beautiful, we are mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, we’re all linked and connected in some way.

What is something you’ve struggled with in life

Self-Acceptance. As I aged I became more exposed to social media and what my body should look like as well as what I shouldn’t. I’ve realized that that has a lot to do with self love, which I’m working on, I’m working on loving myself, which is why I spread body posi posts because I want other people to love their bodies and not become so absorbed with what they’re supposed to look like. I haven’t fully accepted who I am due to minor inconveniences in my youth, but I’m getting there.

What is a positive message you would give others

Don’t make permanent solutions to temporary problems, that’ll put you behind in life.

Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the world

If I can get one person to love themselves even a little bit more, I’ll be content with my existence
