Introduce yourself

My name is Reid Deason. I’m 19 years old and a student at Auburn University studying chemical engineering.
What inspires you everyday

I enjoy reading so books and articles inspire me. I would say my favorite things to read would be stories of new technology, but I’m a big fan of biographies. Learning about other people’s life can be inspiring. I also get inspiration from my girlfriend, she keeps me going especially when I have off days. My younger brothers look up to me and that inspires me to do my best as well.

What is something you would change about people in the world

There understanding. People jump to conclusions before looking at the details. They take sides before they even realize the argument. They support whatever is popular not what they actually believe. People no longer look up things for themselves they take someone else’s word for it which is not smart in my opinion.
What is your view on society today

Society is really messed up right now. Too many people not obeying authority is the biggest issue i see currently. You should always respect authority. Respecting other people would make society a whole lot better
What is something you’ve struggled with

Being too quick to judge someone. You never know a person until you get to know them. That’s a powerful sentence that I struggle with.
What is a positive message you would give others

Do what you love. Not because others want you to or you’re scared of the alternative. You’ll never be bored if you love what you do.
Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the future

I have two goals. One, I want to be a great family man. Someone my kids look up to and someone my wife respects. Two, my goal in my career is to reach the pinnacle, CEO. I believe hard work and dedication pay off. I don’t look to achieve this for money I look to achieve it because I know what I am capable of and settling for something lower is just not my nature. I aim high and with hard work hopefully I don’t miss.
