my name is cielo juarez. it means sky in spanish and I live in dallas, tx.
What inspires you everyday

the thing that inspires me everyday is my mother. she was really poor growing up in mexico and barely has a middle school education. she struggled so much in her life, but here she is; living in a nice neighbourhood and supporting a family.
What is something you would change about people in the world

I would change for people to be more open minded. not everyone is the same and some people don’t understand that. they’re told one thing and believe, refusing to stick with anything else. Some people are told being gay is bad, so they go along with it, believing gays are no good. Others are told black people are thieves and filthy, so they choose not to associate with them. I wish I could change their minds.
What is your view on society today

Our society is okay. vague, so let me explain. we aren’t the best. we complain about everything. saying that it’s terrible for young teenagers to be hooking up? in other societies, young teenagers are being forced to be married. we complain about our lousy president but in North Korea, you’d be in deep shit for talking bad about the dictator. we aren’t the greatest society but we can change that. we can aim for a better society and possibly help other societies as well.
What is something you’ve struggled with

I’ve struggled with my thoughts. I still do. I’ve been through a lot of things and I know people have it worse, but it’s still something I think about often. I think and I remember being molested on Christmas by my disabled cousin, I remember raped in my own room by some other family member, I remember trying to keep myself from hurting myself because I kept hearing voices in my head that were telling me to die. It’s hard to stop thinking about things like that. but I still manage.
What is a positive message you would give others

don’t let yourself break. it’s okay to have a couple of cracks here and there but hold yourself together.
Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the future

my achievement is simple. I want to make my mom proud. I want to make my dad proud. I want to make my whole family proud.
