Introduce yourself

Hi, I’m Sarah Wolf. I’m 17 years old from Anchorage/Homer, Alaska
What inspires you everyday

The future. Knowing that each and everyday, every choice I make and every goal I set will somehow help me in my future to make a difference and help others in bigger ways than I already do.
What is something you would change about people in the world

Honestly, you can’t really change people, you can sure try though! In reality, the best thing we can do is inform, inspire and educate those around us. Then, each individual person can and will chose if they want to listen and take those lessons to heart. I do wish we could change people in this world to be more open minded and see how the smallest actions can affect so many people, but we as people are not perfect and all still learning.
What is your view on society today

As a whole, society is judgmental, twisted and divided. This past year, including 2016, has been very hard to handle with more and more controversial issues coming into play. People with innovative solutions can’t be heard because they/we are the minority, where as the majority is getting to call all the shots. It’s unbalanced and unsafe. I do though, believe society can change, it just takes a few big voices to help show that we can work together, especially to educate about global issues.
What is something you’ve struggled with

Well I’ve struggled with a lot. I actually moved away from my previous home because of constant harassment and bullying. I battled depression for a long time before I chose to move and it finally got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore and needed a change. I moved to a new town and started a new school, and it was the best decision i ever made. I grew up a lot faster then everyone else. I had more life experiences and challenges which shaped who I am. I really struggled with connecting to kids my own age and trying to see things the way they do. I see the world for much more than it is, what it could be. I see that every day we can change our path, just depends on how motivated we are to make that change.
What is a positive message you would give others

Keep a positive mindset. There will always be obstacles in life, but know that everything happens for a reason, both good and bad, and the outcome may not be what you wanted, but you will come out stronger and wiser every time.
Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the future

I would like to go to college for Business and Entrepreneurship and start my own company.
