Introduce yourself

Um in 17 years old. I am a senior in high school. I attend a classical academy. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I am planning on attending Texas Women’s University pursuing a nursing degree.
What inspires you everyday

Oh yea and my name is Shelly haha
What inspires me? Where do I begin! My dad had been a huge inspiration in my life. He is such a strong man and stayed in my life when a lot of fathers would have left (because my parents divorce was really ugly). I always make sure to open my Bible every morning because that’s what helps me get through the day. My step mom is also a huge inspiration to me because when my mom disappeared from my life she stepped up into a mom position and took care of me.
What is something you would change about people in the world

I would create more peace in the people in the world. You know, this world is so corrupt because people hate on each other and there are hateful things thrown about the world and if there was just peace and love in everyone the world would be a better place.
What is your view on society today

I think society is very corrupt from seemingly insignificant to life altering attributes. Society has this view on women, men, the LGBT community, on pretty much anything and puts labels on them. Weather they are too skinny or too fat or too ‘gay’ or too religious. Society judges people and puts labels on them way too much and it is very corrupt in that way.
What is something you’ve struggled with

I’ve struggled with my self worth growing up. With my mom leaving when I was 7 really left me in the dust and put me down. I was bullied growing up all through middle and high school getting called ugly and fat. So that is something I’ve struggled with
What is a positive message you would give others

To be happy and be you. The world today puts labels on people and pushes them to be who they are not. Spend a little more time trying to make something of your self and a little less time tryin to give in to the world. To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the future

My goal that I have set right now is to become a nurse at a long stay children’s hospital. I want to be that one nurse that brightens up the children’s day. Who makes them happy in their darkest times.
