Introduce yourself

My name is Abraham Alvarado and I’m from Carlsbad, New Mexico.
What inspires you everyday

Everything. From being outside enjoying the outdoors to staying in, and playing video games all day. One thing that inspires me the most is seeing other people prosper with their own art. I enjoy seeing other artists doing well, and being successful with something they’re really passionate about.
What is something you would change about people in the world

I just wish people were a little more open minded. I think the world would be a better place if everyone just respected each other’s views, and beliefs. There’s so much hate in a world right now it really makes me sad. We’ve been to space, we’ve come so far as a society that we’ve sent people to the moon. Yet there’s still so many people in the world who choose to live and act like Neanderthals.

So yeah, if there’s one thing I could change about people in the world it would just be for everyone to be more open minded and kind towards each other.
What is your view on society today

It’s a little difficult to put into words. I don’t want to say anything that will contradict what I just said earlier. I do believe we’ve come very far as a society. There’s just so much beauty in the world a lot of people don’t ever get the chance to see. All we’ve ever done as a society, as a race, is grow. And with all the negativity going on in the world I think it’s just making it harder for us to progress as a society.
What is something you’ve struggled with

Anxiety, self worth, and figuring out what I want to do with my life. I don’t think I’ve ever been suicidal or depressed. I have my good days, and my bad days just like everyone else. I do know that there is a lot that the universe has to offer so when I feel down I try to look at things from a very positive standpoint. I think to myself “It could be worse, but it’s not.” When I get anxiety I just get some fresh air or talk about what’s on my mind, and it REALLY helps. As for self worth, it’s really not that bad. Sometimes I look at people who are better looking and more successful than me in envy. Then at other times I’m just like, “Screw it! I look good today, I got food in my stomach, and a few dollars in my pocket. That’s all I need to make me happy.” I have a girlfriend who always makes me feel good enough. She’s a really good person, and if it wasn’t for her I’d probably be a lot more self conscious about myself.

Maybe self worth isn’t the word I was looking for. It’s more like, insecurities. And the reason I don’t think it’s so bad is because I know everyone deals with their own insecurities. We just shouldn’t allow our insecurities to define our worth or who we are.

And as far as figuring out what I want to do with my life goes. I just want to do something fun with my life and my art and try to impact the world in a positive way.
What is a positive message you would give others

Just to keep doing what you love, and don’t give up on your dreams. Try to leave a positive influence on other people, because we all impact each other in different ways.
Last question what is a goal you would like to achieve in the future

Honestly, all that I want is to prosper as an artist and a human being.
